Summary
The Intelligent Tank is our first project. We have relatively few high quality images of it due to the fact that we did not take many images. Its design was also quite simple, it consisted of a prototype car copied from the Ev3 starter book and a turret from the Ev3 ideas book. This made it a Tank, but what made it really intelligent was the sensors that we could use with it.
Since the prototype car was a design which came out of the Ev3 starter book, we found other contents in the book which collaborated with the design of the car. The book provided a design for a touch-sensor related bumper and a design for a colour sensor to detect lines and colours on the floor. We first decided to add the bumper to the tank and come up with a code which would let the tank move forwards until the touch sensor is pressed. When this happens, it would let the small motor which controls the turret move and fire a small ball, ther tank would then turn back and this entire thing goes on repeat.
Oh and we also decided to put in a code for the Robot to swear in Arabic when it hit a wall and sing "Happy birthday" (the actual tune) as it went along because we were bored. Videos of it in action are below:
